Certain visions emerge upon my panels with a vision all their own, and this sacred ancestor is just such a visionary. When he was painted, he brought forth a heart for Story.. specifically the stories of those BIPOC who are eclipsing the narratives that white supremacist society has given them, and bringing forth the potent truth of their own authentic stories. It is long past time for these stories to be heard and honored.

Upon listening to the heart of this elder, I have been moved, and have looked to support those in my community who are putting action behind this vision.

FULL proceeds from these LE prints will go to AMPED, an organization that has a vision for supporting storytelling that matches the heart of this ancestor.

Through its classes, events, Radio Residence Program, and Podcast Incubation program, AMPED equips diverse creators, storytellers, and community members with new skills around communication, expression, listening, and creativity that will allow them to produce audio media stories and podcasts.

Amped prioritizes programming centered around women, youth, people of color, people with disabilities, people who identify as LGBQT+, people who are low income, the elderly, and other marginalized communities in our work.”
